Sable Mouvant (Quick sand) was created in book form with 10 Aquatints by Pablo Picasso as a gesture to his artistic friend, writer Pierre Reverdy (1889-1960).
Sable Mouvant was the last work in which the artist worked is shown via the portrayal of "artist and painters" a theme that runs again and again throughout Picasso's life and is an important tool for Picasso. Women in particular are a recurring theme in his lithograph/painting and often the most valuable.
