Vintage antique Victorian anno 1840, Flower branch - 胸針 - 18 克拉 玫瑰金, 銀 鉆石

Type of jewel: Vintage antique Victorian diamond trembleuse brooch Condition: very good Country of origin: France and/or Belgium (see explanation below in the text) Style: Vintage antique Victorian Era: ca. 1840 Inspired by: Mother Nature Theme: flower branch Material: 18K red gold details on silver, tested with touchstone. Technique: The rose cuts are set on foil. This is a ancient technique that was used to bring the lustre of the diamonds to its best quality. This is being done by placing in the closed mounting under the diamond a highly polished cone of silver foil. Extra information: Tremblant or Trembleuse - Tremblant is French for "trembling". Referring to a jewel decorated with a flower or other motif that has at the top stiff projecting wires (embellished with gemstones) that tremble when the piece is subjected to any movement. Sometimes the projections are finely coiled silver springs, such as were used in the 18th century, but some examples were made with tubular stems enclosing a strip of steel spring. Diamond(s): 63 rose cut. We do not have the weight of these diamonds which is normal in our trade when it comes to rose cuts. All diamonds in our vintage and antique jewellery are verified by the IJGC-lab to confirm whether they are natural or lab-grown. We do not offer any pieces with lab-grown diamonds. Thus, we assure that all diamonds in this jewel are 100% natural. Birth and month stones: Diamond is the birthstone (or month stone) for April. Hallmarks: The control mark here represents a horse’s head and was in use in Belgium from 1831 and in France from about 1838. Such pieces frequently bear marks of this tender care. Furthermore, we present our antique and vintage jewellery in its authentic state, refraining from removing scratches or applying rhodium plating to white gold items. Our priority is to preserve the genuine allure and history of each piece. However, as the new owner, you have the option to take it to a local goldsmith for a cosmetic refresh, should you choose.
