The car works with a strong wind up motor and all 3 forward speeds and reverse worked when tested. The adjustable steering works as well. Sporting clockwork motors and a transmission with three forward gears, neutral and reverse, they were made within a 1:30 - 1:40 scale range except for the Volkswagen which was made to a slightly larger scale and reportedly didn't have a wind-up mechanism.
