Yann Faisant is a visual artist born in France in 1960. He has crafted a universe where Beauty, whether cultural, natural, or human, is highlighted through an approach that is both aesthetic, technical, and virtual. Biography: Born in 1960, Yann Faisant began early training as a founder alongside his artistic practice. His explorations involve various mediums such as photography, video, and the art of fire. He later shifted towards the digital realm and created an artistic application called I Mind You, which has been the foundation of his work since 2015. He delves into virtual art but maintains a physical continuity by materializing his creations through mosaics. His mosaic paintings, where each tile, like a pixel, enriches itself with the material it carries, pay homage to the greatest works by appropriating and diverting the concept of Beauty. Key Dates: 1989: Collaboration with Jean-Claude Mazel, a fellow visual artist. They establish a creative dialogue where their respective works express the same artistic discourse and aesthetic exploration. They create their own foundry within their studio. 2000: Faisant and Mazel bring to life the "Jardin extraordinaire" (Extraordinary Garden), an original space of formal and conceptual freedom. The garden showcases polychrome bronze sculptures staged in an idealistic and symbolic ensemble, gaining international recognition. "Jardin Extraordinaire" is exhibited in numerous galleries, particularly in Europe and China, with institutional and private collectors contributing to the continuity of the work. 2008: Relocation of the studio to Tangier. 2009: Yann Faisant sketches his magnum opus and develops the theme of resistance with the video "Silence Part I," a visual and narrative prelude to the theme of survival, centered around the Ginkgo Biloba. The essence and properties of this ancient tree, which was the subject of his master's thesis in 1980, subtly permeate his entire body of work. 2010: The exhibition "S'âme-user" (Art Diffusion Gallery - Paris) explores alchemical themes using animals or "animae" (spirit - soul), introducing the mythic and narrative symbol of the apple from nature. The apple becomes an obvious and artistic continuation with the Ginkgo Biloba. 2011: Faisant embodies the perfection of nature by using the Fibonacci sequence, a mathematical series that tends towards perfection. He creates and exhibits seven sculptures: seven bronze apples with 24-carat gold, ranging from 7.6 cm to 137 cm in diameter, crowned with a Ginkgo Biloba leaf, forming a perfectly continuous series based on the golden ratio. 2013: Faisant decides to expand Opus Magnum and explore the themes of alchemy, transformation, and resistance through different Opus. He stages a philosophical and artistic quest through the constituent elements of his work – nature, man, and the universe – creating a series of sculptures: hybrid fruits following the Fibonacci sequence. 2016: During COP 22, the I MIND YOU project unveils the journey of an inflatable structure (hot air balloon), Applen13. This inflatable structure, constructed following the Fibonacci sequence with a diameter of 19.2m, travels to sites declared in peril to draw public attention to what needs preservation. Faisant launches a digital artistic platform as part of the project. 2017: Conclusion of Opus D, "Cheval à la pomme d'or" (Horse with the Golden Apple). Preparation for a retrospective exhibition in Dubai for the Universal Exhibition. 2017: First off-site exhibition at Gare Saint Lazare, Paris, in collaboration with SNCF Gare et Connexion. From 2015 onwards, Yann Faisant delves into digital art and develops the artistic application I Mind You, where the premise "thought is creative" allows sharing artworks incorporating text and sound, paying homage to the great masters of painting. Parallel to this exploration, he undertakes mosaic training to give physical reality to his work. The works take shape, integrating pixel art and appropriation, diverting aesthetic codes to reinterpret them. The main idea behind this work is to pay tribute to the Grand Masters of painting.
