20/20 Jancis Robinson: Where the Pettenthal is complex and incredibly intense on the nose, Kirchspiel is all restrained fragrant beauty. Yes, it does have a touch of smoky spice but it is all finesse. A subtle but irresistible temptress of minerality and stony citrus purity. This is a stunning vintage for Kirchspiel: extreme purity, core intensity of the finest fruit, but all so incredibly subtle and unshowy. Such wonderful freshness you might be deceived into thinking it lighter than the Pettenthal but it’s not, it is just quieter, more poised. Endless and so profound
