Four years later Rautert returned to America, this time to the Hutterites who live so stringently by the Ten Commandments and the bible`s restrictions on images that they have their identity cards issued without photographs. Text in English. Great photobook - in perfect condition. Timm Rautert, born in Tuchola in 1941, studied photography under Otto Steinert at the Folkwang School of Design in Essen from 1966 to 1971. Among his recent book projects are: Gehäuse des Unsichtbaren (1992); Eigenes Leben (1994); Koordinaten (2000); Arbeiten (2000), and Deutsche in Uniform (2007). Rautert has worked since 1993 as professor of photography at the "Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst" in Leipzig.
