2019 Clos de l'Oratoire des Papes - 教皇新堡法定產區 - 3 瓶 (0.75L)

Named Clos de l'Oratoire des Papes in homage to the popes who chose the region to establish their summer quarters, this estate created in the 19th century experienced real growth from the 1920s, under the leadership of the family Lovers. After a period of decline, the estate was sold in 2000 to the Ogier group, also owner of Caves des Papes, which restored its luster. The specificity of the Clos de l'Oratoire des Papes is notably due to the exceptional variety of its soils. The vineyard combines plots made up of stony soils, safres and pebbles rolled in red clay. This uniqueness of the terroir, combined with a superb exposure of the vines (sun and mistral at the same time) we obtain a powerful, very distinctive wine. Le Clos de l'Oratoire devotes two plots to produce a delicate and rare wine. Like the red, its label has not changed since 1926, the date of its creation by the Amouroux family. The wine was aged for 4 months on fine lees in new barrels and stainless steel vats. It has a pretty straw color with golden highlights. The nose is expressive and opens with notes of pears, lychee and vanilla. The palate is delicious, creamy and very fruity. It is recommended to taste this wine after a few years of aging and will enhance fish in sauce or pike dumplings.
