Beautiful late Victorian floral cluster dress ring crafted in 9ct yellow gold and silver. Bezel set to centre with dark blue oval paste stone in imitation of sapphire, in a halo surround of 12 clear round stones, with 4 further stones decorating the shoulders. All the paste is original and cut by a good jeweller - the clear stones catch the light beautifully and sparkle like diamonds. Made in England, 1890's. Paste (Strass) jewellery despite being used as a low-cost substitute for diamonds in 18th to 20th century is now highly sought after in its own right. It has a very long history with a form of paste dating all the way back to the Roman empire. 2.40 g The ring face measures approximately 12 x 15 mm.
