Strip woven mud cloth
The bogolanfini, or mud cloths, are some of the most impressive of the African textiles. Traditionally made by the women of Mali, they were originally used for hunter's shirts and women's wraps. The cotton cloth is hand woven in strips and dyed by an age old process using local flora and mud. Only one side is with traditional patterns.
