Founded by Wayne Moss, guitar/keyboards/vocals, Mac Gayden, guitar/keyboards/vocals and Kenny Buttrey, drums who had played together in Area Code 615. They were joined by John Harris, keyboards. After the first album Gayden left to form Skyboat and Buttrey joined Neil Young. They were replaced by Russ Hicks, guitar/steel guitar/horn/vocals and Kenny Malone, drums. Sometimes Barefoot Jerry refers to just Wayne Moss.
