This is fully working and has been refitted with a regular bayonet lamp holder and modern wiring. An original Vintage Strand Patt 743 Theatre Stage Light in its original aged finish. Strand, England, were founded in 1914 in London’s West End and had their manufacturing works in Covent Garden. The Patt 743 was introduced in the summer of 1963 and was produced until 1971 . The first lanterns off the line were rushed into service to light the original London production of My Fair Lady at the Drury Lane Theatre in London’s West End. Strand lanterns are very solidly constructed around a strong diecast alloy body shell and built to last. Sold as seen and may require electrical testing and refurbishment. This would look amazing in a London or New York loft apartment. Approximate measurements are: Overall height 145cm, Base stand is 40cm in diameter and 86cm tall. The lamp is 36cm deep x 28cm wide x 30cm height. The whole piece weighs in the region 30kgs - 35kgs and is a heavy industrial lamp in every way. This has now been disassembled and comes in 3 parts, the base, the upright, and the lamp unit, which are all put back together with the included heavy duty nuts, washers & bolts. Shipping will be expensive due to its weight and packaged size so collection is preferable from me in the UK. I can package and ship too and this is reflected in the prices.
