A pair of Chinese doucai gilt 'Lotus pond' porcelain bowls and covers. China, 20th century or earlier, most probably Republic period. Preserved in excellent condition! All items finely decorated to the exterior in a doucai palette with lotus and other aquatic plants emerging from the pond surface. Interior of the each bowl and cover with a central medallion depicting lotus pond and plants, surrounded by a similar decor. Painted in soft underglaze-blue and overglaze-grey outlines, dark blue highlighted with gilding, plants in tones of green with iron red and pink flowers. All items inscribed with underglaze blue apocryphal Qianlong six-character marks. Daylight pictures included.
