Species: Watsonisuchus madagascariensis Age: Lower Triassic Locality: Madagascar Measurements: 13 cm - 13.5 × 9 cm concretion Weight: 661 g Madagascar is famous for its Triassic reptile fauna and especially Barasaurus and Claudiosaurus. This is the skull of a Watsonisuchus, one of the less common species. The specimen is natural and consists of two parts of a calcareous concretion that preserved an internal and an external mould of the skull. The partial teeth are finely preserved. We made a cast of the external mould (photos 5 and 7) that will be offered with the fossil.
