Very rare carriage clock to hang, in painted sheet metal, verdigris.
Circular and spherical plug. 44 cm in diameter. Height of 16 cm. Very heavy.
White enamelled dial. Rewound with a key. Dial is marked with: "PAUL GARNIER, clockmaker and mechanic of the Navy, Paris."

Inside the case, the pendulum is missing and its hook is twisted.
Engravings: "Paul Garnier, Paris" and, in a cartridge, "Médaille d'argent, S. Marti et Cie" ("Silver medal, S. Marti and Cie"), then "1889".
Paul GARNIER, clockmaker of the Navy and the French railways studied under Master Lépine. He quickly found success after opening his own workshop in Paris. Paul Garnier is famous for having provided all the train stations of France with wall clocks.
