MyDogon

Hi! This is Riccardo and I am the founder of MyDogon, a small business specialising in contemporary West African sculptures and hand-carved wooden objects from Mali. My connection with the region began in 2007, and since 2008 I have travelled regularly to Mali, particularly Bamako, where I discovered my passion for traditional craftsmanship and Dogon-inspired art. What began as a personal collection gradually grew into MyDogon. Today, I carefully select each piece for its character, craftsmanship and individuality, sourcing locally and through trusted contacts built over many years. My collection includes lost-wax cast-metal sculptures, commonly known as “African bronze”, as well as carved wooden doors and decorative objects. I believe in transparent descriptions, fair prices and offering distinctive handmade pieces to collectors and art enthusiasts across Europe.
