Cadillac - Fleetwood Brougham "Edgewood" - 1969
Neat 1969 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham
Edgewood
One of a kind!
This Cadillac started its life as an original "triple black" (black imitation leather roof, black lacquer, and black interior) back in 1969.
Full options including heated seat, air conditioning, radio with 8 tracks, all electric, levelling system on the rear axle, cruise control.
The first owner was Margrette Karpiak (name plate on the door), she was a pole dancer.
Her Cadillac was customised by UCC including:
Electric skylight
10” Sony TV
Dial telephone with a silver receiver (Raimond silver-plate)
CB radio
Dual antenna
Custom grille
Landau package
16" Cadillac wire wheels with whitewall tyres,
Alarm
The Cadillac was customised as the Eldorado "Del Caballero" (from George Barris, the man of the Batmobile), like the Landau, with a stainless steel strip roof, boot lid, custom grille, S bars on the c-pillar etc. ..
What’s even more remarkable is the 70s back!
This Caddy has spent a long time in a Californian barn (20-30 years).
It was then sold to someone in Illinois, and from there to the Netherlands.
The engine starts straight away, it runs well on all cylinders, the automatic shifts as you would expect.
The "Edgewood" has a radio that can play an 8-track (untested), unfortunately the speaker has gone. The seat heater has a short circuit,
the cruise control works intermittently. The skylight engine runs, but the roof will not open and close.
The electric seats work, the power windows work, although they could all do with some lubrication.
The 10 "Sony television with protective cover comes on but has no picture.
The double electric antennas are stuck in the up position, on the back there is an 8" antenna for CB radio.
The lights, wipers, brakes, work as you would expect.
Unfortunately, the alarm key has been lost, the siren has been tested and it works.
The automatic levelling system probably no longer works...
The headliner is in fairly good condition, but a piece is missing near the skylight, frame included, the leather upholstery looks neat for its age, the carpet still looks very good too. Door panels look good.
The car looks good from the outside, it has a fresh coat of black paint.
Rust spots are beginning to form on the rear mudguards and on the base of the boot there are 2 carriers that require attention.
The whitewall tyres have plenty of profile but are old, the spoke rims still look nice.
The glass on the front left indicator is broken, a good one is included.
The car has a USA title and the import duties have been paid.
The car is located in Germany, Itterbeck 49847, 10 minutes from the German border at Hardenberg, Overijssel, the Netherlands.
