The Latin lettering reads: “M · THERESIA · D · G · R · IMP · HU · BO · REG · S”, which translates to “Maria Theresia, by the grace of God, empress of the Romans, queen of Hungary and Bohemia.”
The reverse displays the coat of arms of Maria Theresia on a double-crowned shield.
The shield is divided into four fields representing Hungary, Bohemia, Burgundy, and Burgau (Günzburg).
The inner shield bears the coat of arms of Austria.
