Demonstrating the exquisite metalwork skills of that era, these iron armor pieces are inscribed on the interior with details from "Kansei 11, Year of the Sheep (Kansei era, spring)" and include the name "Tsuda Kiyosuke Takayoshi," connecting them to their historical heritage. It is noted that these pieces underwent restoration in the year 1799. Over the centuries, the armor has shown signs of wear including patina, surface scratches, rust, and areas where the lacquer has chipped or cracked. These characteristics are not just imperfections but pivotal aspects of their authenticity and add to their historical value. The set includes two matching pieces of chest and back armor that would have traditionally been worn together to protect the samurai warrior's torso. The presence of both pieces significantly enhances the historical importance and completeness of this rare find. The thread in the armor appears to have been replaced in the 20th century, indicating ongoing preservation efforts. Please carefully examine the photos to appreciate the craftsmanship and condition of these pieces thoroughly. Dimensions excluding Kusazuri 草摺 tassets: approx. H 42 cm W 33 cm D 25 cm ・Please make sure to review all the provided information and images before placing your bid. ・We make every effort to accurately represent the product's colors and textures in our photos. However, due to differences in monitors and device displays, as well as photographic conditions, slight color variations between the photos and the actual product may occur.
