*’Nederlandsche Vogelen’ was the first reference work on the avifauna of The Netherlands and is one of the most beautiful and expensive works in the history of Dutch printing. This reference work by Cornelis Nozeman and Christiaan Sepp was originally published in five volumes between 1770 and 1829. This re-edition contains a cultural-historical and biological introduction by Marieke van Delft, Esther van Gelder and Alexander Raat. The scientific table of content is by Ruud Vlek and Alexander Raat. The 18th century, the current and the Latin names are put next to each other in it. The prologue is by Midas Dekkers. The re-edition has all illustrations and text in their actual size.
The engravings were taken care of by the Amsterdam amateur biologist Christiaan Sepp and later by his son and grandson. Cornelis Nozeman, a remonstrant minister provided the texts for each bird.
