A Zenith Defy 28800 automatic made in 1969. This watch is a collectible item because this watch (043 E 785) is part of the first Defy watches produced in very small number by Zenith making them a thought after collectable Zenith watch. The Defy is a long serving model in the Zenith range with the latest Zenith Defy Lab being the most precise mechanical watch in the world (0.3 s per 24H). This particular line of super resistant watch (waterproof, shockproof) was introduced by Zenith in 1968 side by side with El Primeros to tap the sportswatch. This watch has an octogonal steel case with a double-sealed screw down crown, a hardened mineral Crystal glass, a special locking bezel to create a particularly effective seal and an anti-shock rubber bushing suspending the entire movement. It is waterproof to 300 meters. The back of the case has the typical Zenith signature. The automatic caliber 2552 PC with 17 jewels is signed Zenith. The dial is brown with original Zenith luminescent hands and a date (between the 4 and the 5). The strap is a black calfskin leather with tin buckle. The watch works well and keep good time. The overall condition of the watch is good apart from some signs of wear around the case.
