A magnificent, unspoiled vintage DS-2 Turtle-Back with 39 mm case and beautifully discoloured dial. This is called a 'Turtle Back' due to the large turtle on the screw-down case back. Very beautiful! The innovative Doppelte Sicherheit (DS) case has extra waterproofing. The watch is entirely original and unspoiled. The 39 mm steel case is in very neat vintage condition and is unpolished. Which is why the faceted edges have an extra sleek look. The sides of the case have a brushed texture, as does the top of the case. The convex-shaped and undamaged Plexiglas rises above the case. The 25-66 movement runs very accurately and keeps the time well. So, it is a very good watch technically as well! The grey dial has discoloured beautifully over the past 40 years and has gained a lovely smooth brown glow. The tritium in the hands has also discoloured nicely. The dial has dark applied hour markers and it has an applied Certina symbol. The crown is the original Certina one. Comes fitted with a rubber strap with the original Certina clasp suitable for wrists up to 18 cm. Certina was a luxurious Swiss watch brand in the 1970s, comparable to brands such as Longines or Omega. Will be packaged and shipped with care.
