Lovely set of 6 Baccarat crystal whisky/Port glasses, 'Nancy' model. Cut crystal model created in 1867, the 'Nancy' was presented at the International Festival of Nancy that gave it its name in 1908. The model has been included in each Baccarat catalogue of tableware ever since. It is one of the great successes of the crystal maker. With its clean lines and bevelled diamond-cut patterns, the 'Nancy' model has become almost emblematic in the production of Baccarat's glasses, along with the 'Harcourt' model in strong crystal, a symbol of the crystal maker repeated on the stamp. It has come in many forms: the catalogue's list, according to the year, several pages of 'Nancy' model items. Our glass has the signature of Baccarat: it's from a production of the second half of the last century (before 1936, it had a paper label that was in the place of the stamp, but it wore off after several washings).
