Antique plaster statue bust or Marianne.. A rare and unique item! A beautiful and very large plaster statue of Marianne. From a town hall in France. Measurements: app: 90 x 55 cm Weight: 19.3 kg. Age: Circa 1900 Marianne is the national symbol of France as a "Triumph of the Republic”. As a statue she is symbolizing the goddess of freedom, wearing laurel leafs and the Phrygian cap in her hair. She symbolizes the attachment of the common citizens of the revolution to the Republic of France. Marianne is liberty, egality and fraternity. Because of the age some inevitable minor damage, and restauration, to the crown and some plaster. Please have a look at the photos. Due to the weight and vulnerability of the statue to be picked up in Amsterdam.
