Gold plated case, tan leather strap, applied logo, needle hands and baton indices, stepped bezel, and applied border on the date aperture with original booklet. 36mm case and 40mm lug to lug. 26mm dial, 20mm lugs tapering to 18mm at the buckle. Very rare and unusual design - an essential component in any serious Bulova collection. Very rare Bulova 242 Quartz "Accuset" movement, introduced immediately after tuning fork movements ceased production and only in very limited production. Very rarely available now. The 242 has a recessed button at 4 used for correcting seconds. The crown has to be pulled out for setting when the seconds reach 12. This will stop the second hand and pressing the button calibrates the movement to zero seconds. The watch can be then set and used as normal. Then to synchronise, all you have to do is press the button to stop seconds and then release the button at an exact time signal and watch in wonder as the seconds hand will either move slow or fast until it is synchronised precisely.
