Euterpe, muse of music, with the aulos or double flute
Delicate representation of Euterpe, muse of music and lyric poetry, in bronze cast with lost wax. With a Neoclassical inspiration, it depicts the Greek Muse of Apollo with the aulos or double flute in her hand, dressed in a tunic, pharos, sandals and monilia on the neck. She wears her hair in a hairnet with ringlets and headdress with ivy leaves.
Late 19th century. Possibly French.
in perfect condition, no flaws or restorations. Patina typical of old bronze.
