13 luk Mataram Keris / Kris Sangkelat (1) - Holz, Pamor Eisen - Kris/Keris - Solo, Java, Indonesien

13 Luk Kris from the Mataram Kingdom 13 Luk Kris with dapor (name) Sangkelat from Surakarta (Solo), Java, Indonesia. Surakarta is one of the Sultans cities of Java. This is a large, and very old Kris, from the time of the Mataram Kingdom (early 18th century). Beautiful Kris from Java (Indonesia) with pamor (damask-like pattern). This is caused by the technique of forging various types of iron in layers by the Empu (traditional Kris blacksmith). This Kris was probably forged by an Empu who was connected to the Kraton (Sultans Palace) of Surakarta (now Solo). The name of the pamor is, in my opinion, Ngulit Semangka. This pamor is known for its good magical properties, among other things ease the interaction with people from all kinds of circles. In addition, the magical power helps human make a living in a simple way. (source: pamor atlas, EAN van Veenendaal). The Kris is in a very nice wooden sheath Gayaman Gakok (kidney shape), The wood has a beautiful, spotted drawing and is Timoho Pelet, of which is said that it brings happiness. Such types of wood are quite rare and very valuable and were only used for the best Kris. The Gandar is enclosed by a very beautifully crafted copper Pendok Blewah (an outer sheath that is open at the front) with floral motifs that are typical of the Kraton of Surakarta. The Kris has a very nice wooden Tunggak Semi Surakarta handle and a silver mendak (ring), encrusted with ints (rough diamond). There is 1 int missing from the ring The length of the Kris blade itself is 36 cm, the length of the entire Kris is 50 cm. This Kris comes from the collection of an old member of the Kris Association (Studiegroep De Keris), who was born in Jakarta (Indonesia). He has collected art from the Indonesian Archipelago all his life and was a lover of special Kris and had built up a beautiful Kris collection. The sale, purchase and possession of arms are subject to national laws and regulations. Please make sure that you are familiar with the laws and regulations of your country BEFORE bidding.
