In order to increase the turnover, it was decided to entrust the licence for the production of radios to some manufacturers in various European countries, so as to avoid the high costs of customs duties. In Italy, the production of radio equipment, under licence from the Austrian parent company, began in 1936 by Luigi Cozzi dell’Aquila in Milan. In the early years, the Italian models were identical to their Austrian counterparts but, later, the Italian Minerva began to introduce variants to better meet the needs of its domestic customers. The Italian production was characterised by a line of furniture that has always been highly sought-after, enriched by the use of fine woods and often sophisticated and elegant shapes.
