Omega - Constellation Gerald Genta c-shape - 168.019 - Herren - 1960-1969

This watch was given to me as an inheritance. The Omega model is the 35 mm (case size), very rare since most of these watches had 34/34.5 mm cases. The dial does not have the usual cream colour, but has a rarer woven texture. The bracelet is also unique as it is not the classic 5-link model. I will point out that there are some scratches on the clasp. The movement mounted on this watch is the calibre Omega 751, the last classic calibre and also COSC chronometer certified; the subsequent calibres (of the 1011 and 1022 series), in fact, are made together with the TISSOT brand and, therefore, cheaper, less exclusive and, after having seen some of them, the much finer workmanship of the 751 is evident. Another advantage of the piece is the date display: in the 1960s/70s Omega produced the date window in Swiss and English, but the company, to satisfy the great demand from Italian buyers, has created an exclusive edition of a few pieces with the date window in Italian (with a ratio of approx. 1: 100). The difficulty in finding these models with the date window in this language makes the piece even more exclusive. Finally, the watch was fully restored on 18/09/20 (see photos of the receipt), and complies with the COSC certification tolerances (-4/+6 seconds per day), reaching +3 seconds per day (see photo of the chronocomparator). Bracelet length 15 cm, width 19 mm.
