The Unison Research Aria S2K, handcrafted in Italy, is a single-ended class A integrated valve amplifier delivering 15 watts per channel. The unit utilizes 2 x 12AU7A and 2 x KT-88 tubes in a Single-Ended Ultra Linear Class A design. With a pure silver printed circuit board and hard wiring connections, the S2K is designed with minimal passive components in the signal path. Unison Research's high-quality output transformers are made from top-notch materials. Featuring a solid cherry wood front panel and stainless steel control knobs, the S2K boasts an impressive industrial design. Weighing around 36 lbs, this amp's build quality and fit and finish are excellent for its price range. The S2K's chassis is deeper than it is wide, with the rear two-thirds occupied by a black sheet-metal enclosure. In front, slightly offset to the right, are two 12AU7A input tubes and two Sovtek KT88 output tubes. A contoured stainless-steel apron surrounds the tubes, and script legends identify the proper placement.
