The Musigny of Domaine Leroy is today one of the finest wines of Burgundy. A wine that cannot leave anyone indifferent. Estate information: Leroy (domain) Domaine Leroy was founded in 1868 in the small municipality of Auxey-Duresses. It owes its fame to Henry Leroy, who began working in the family business in 1919. In 1942 he purchased half of the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti vineyard, still co-owned with the de Villaine family. In 1955 he was succeeded by his daughter Marcelle, nicknamed Lalou, who is still at the helm of the estate and says that when she was born, her father wet her lips with a drop of Musigny. Between 1985 and 1989, with the help of her Japanese importer, Marcelle Leroy acquired the vineyards of the Noëllat and Philippe Rémy companies with the aim of producing excellent wines: Domaine Leroy was born. Today Lalou-Bize Leroy is at the head of an extraordinary viticultural heritage that extends over 22.4 hectares spread across 24 appellations. This bottle comes from my private cellar which is always kept at a controlled temperature and in the dark.
