“Georges Perrot (12 November 1832 June 30, 1914) was a French archaeologist, professor in the faculty of letters in Paris, and a prolific author. His book, entitled A History of Art in Ancient Egypt is a two volume set covering the art of Ancient Egypt via archaeological means and discovery. As an archaeologist, Perrot explored Greece, Asia Minor, and other famous locales for archaeological digging; his findings while on dig sites inspired a considerable amount of his writing. This particular series was written in tandem with co-author Charles Chipiez, who worked and studied alongside Perrot and was considered an equal authority in the field of archaeology by contemporaries. Together, these two men performed architectural studies on the most ancient”.
