Up in auction a classic Som Berthiot Apographe 140mm f10, it is a complete kit. A classic tool for medium format photographers, covering 9x12cm format. This lens is a dialyte-type process lens, with the inner biconcave elements each a pair of cemented plano-concave elements. A 1950s catalog says that they are very sharp and that distortion and residual chromatic aberration are practically eliminated but doesn’t say explicitly that they’re apochromats, even if practically they are. The lens in auction is in mint preserved condition. Black brass barrel is fine, glasses are bright, no scratches, no balsam separation, no haze, no fungus inside. The aperture is smooth and precise, no oil on the blades. Iris turns smoothly and works as it should all the apertures have a round circle. Mechanically is in fully working order. The lens is complete with original wooden box, cap, 3 filters, one yellow, one red, one blue, and 4 window diaphragms (you can use also square aperture). Please check actual photos.
