"Hungry Daze" is a song by the British rock band Deep Purple.
It was included on the album "Come Taste the Band", which was released in 1975. "Come Taste the Band" was the band's last studio album before they disbanded in 1976, and it marked a distinct departure from their earlier hard rock sound with the presence of guitarist Tommy Bolin, who replaced Ritchie Blackmore.
"Hungry Daze" is a reflective and somewhat melancholy song that deals with themes of self-reflection and change. The lyrics touch on the passage of time, personal struggles and the desire for something meaningful. Musically, the song features Bolin's melodic guitar work and David Coverdale's soulful vocals, creating a mood that differs from Deep Purple's earlier material.
Although 'Come Taste the Band' received mixed reviews upon its release, it has gained a cult following over the years, with 'Hungry Daze' being one of the standout tracks for many fans.
The album's experimentation with funk, soul and blues influences showed the band's versatility and willingness to explore new musical territories.
