Frandsen Lyskilde - Frandsen Lyskilde - Hängelampe - Osaka L - Stoff, Metall

This ceiling lamp, model Osaka, was designed and produced by Frandsen Lyskilde between 1993 and 1996, in Denmark. The lamp features a stretchable white fabric were some metal rings are attached to give the organic shape. It can be folded and be a flat package. It is a new old stock, which means it's never been used. This is the Large model. Benny Frandsen is a renowned and experienced danish designer and founder of the lighting company Fradsen, which has designed, manufactured and marketed lamps since 1968. His flair for Scandinavian aesthetics has resulted in numerous international lighting design awards during the years. In 1972 he moved production in-house and opened a factory in Skanderborg so that the high demand for ball lamps could be met. His company went from strength to strength and in 1993 the company was bought by the Frits group and associated with the Lyskilde company. Benny Frandsen continued as director of the company. But in 1996 he decided to buy the company back and later it received a new name: Frandsen Lighting A/S. After the turn of the millennium Benny Frandsen recognized that production had to move to China to keep costs down and today the company is called the Frandsen Group. In 2005, Frandsen bought a small lighting firm, Verpan, which had a license to produce the well-known Globe lamp, designed by Verner Panton. Today Frandsen and Verpan are licensed to produce around 80 of Verner Panton's lamp designs, rugs and furniture.
