The front is decorated with linear decorations on the ends and four smaller crosses in the centre. This is a variation on the Jerusalem cross, where the four crosses are placed in each quarter of the larger cross. The cross pendant is strung on a modern leather jewellery cord with clasp. See images. The origin of the five-fold cross originates from the 11th century and it was the coat of arms of Godfrey of Bouillon (1060-1099). He was a pre-eminent leader of the First Crusade, and the first ruler of the Kingdom of Jerusalem.
