Nine volumes (the first and second volumes in the same book) under the name "Illustrated World History for the Home," published from 1929. The first volume covers the period from the dawn of civilization to the height of Greek greatness. Volume three deals with the Germanic peoples and the migration period up to late medieval Europe. Volume four covers the Renaissance and the great explorations to the age of the Reformation. Volume five discusses the Counter-Reformation, the three Spanish kings Philip II - IV, France, and Europe up to the beginning of the 17th century. Volume six covers the period from the Thirty Years' War onwards, including Louis XIV, the Great Northern War, and more. Volume seven mentions America, the French Revolution, and the period up to 1804. Volume eight tells of the major European powers in the early 19th century, the many wars, and the age of colonization. The final and ninth volume covers the years from the February Revolution up to the Franco-Prussian War and the period up to World War I and the revolution in Russia, and finally, the Treaty of Versailles. The author, Alexander Bugge, wrote the work over a 14-year period. A little watermark in the first book.
