Pink Floyd - Ummagumma / Japanese 1st Odeon Pressing - Doppel-LP (Album mit 2 LPs) - Japanische Pressung - 1970

Pink Floyd–Ummagumma "Ummagumma" is the fourth studio album by Pink Floyd, released in 1969. The album is unique in that it is a double album, with the first disc featuring live performances recorded at various venues, while the second disc consists of solo compositions and experiments by each member of the band. The live portion of the album showcases Pink Floyd's evolving sound during their early years, featuring extended improvisations and psychedelic jams. The tracks include performances of songs from their previous albums, such as "Astronomy Domine" and "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun," as well as newer compositions like "Careful with That Axe, Eugene." The second disc of "Ummagumma" presents a departure from the band's typical studio work, with each band member contributing their own solo compositions or experimental pieces. These tracks range from avant-garde sound collages to more conventional songs, offering insight into the individual musical interests of each member. While "Ummagumma" received mixed reviews upon its release, it has since gained a cult following among Pink Floyd fans and is seen as an important milestone in the band's discography, showcasing their versatility and experimental spirit during a transitional period in their career.
