Veracruz, Mexiko Keramik Weibliche Figur mit TL-Test und deutscher Ausfuhrgenehmigung. - 7.8 cm

Veracruz-Panuco. Female figure with TL test. 900-1600 AD. The Gulf Coast Classic culture refers to a cultural area in the north and central areas of the present-day Mexican state of Veracruz, a culture that existed from roughly 100 to 1000 AD. El Tajin was the major center of Classic Veracruz culture; other notable settlements include Higueras, Zapotal, Cerro de las Mesas, Nopiloa, and Remojadas, the latter two important ceramics centers. The culture spanned the Gulf Coast between the Pánuco River on the north and the Papaloapan River on the south. The Classic Veracruz culture is sometimes associated with the Totonacs, who were occupying this territory at the time of the Spanish Conquest of the Aztec Empire. However, there is little or no evidence that the Totonacs were the originators of the Classic era culture. Maybe the most iconic and known aspect of this culture is the ballgame. Every cultural center had at least one ballcourt, while up to 18 ballcourts have been found at El Tajin. This female figure is attached to its base. Provenance: Ex private collection (Germany; before 1982). Attached export certificate from Germany. Attached TL test from Ralf Kotalla Laboratory (1994). The Supplier warrants that he obtained this lot legally. Provenance statement seen by Catawiki. Important information. The seller guarantees that he is entitled to ship this lot. The seller will take care that any necessary permits will be arranged. The seller will inform the buyer about this if this takes more than a few days. Important: For destinations out of Spanish territory: all our objects will be shipped after obtaining CERTIFICATE OF EXPORTATION by Ministry of Culture of Spain. We inform our clients that it may take between 4-8 weeks.
