Crafted by the renowned bladesmith Ryokai Nōshin, this wakizashi bears the signature of a legacy stretching from the Muromachi era. The balance and silhouette of this piece are remarkable, showcasing the beauty inherent in traditional Japanese swords. The blade pattern is delicate yet robust, indicative of Ryokai Yoshizane’s esteemed blades, known for their fine craftsmanship and exquisite form. This sword has been designated as a specially preserved sword by NBTHK. Please note that the original Firearms and Swords Registration Certificate must be returned to the authorities, hence only a copy is provided with the sale. The certificate, issued by Mie Prefecture Government with the number 4905 on April 5th, 1952 (Showa 27), lists the type as “wakizashi”, measures 50.5 cm in length, 1.65 cm in curvature, and features two peg holes with the signature on the front "Ryoukai Yoshizane”.
