The Sumo ukiyo-e prints had not been published for a long time since 1908. This work is a limited edition sumo ukiyo-e print that was finally published again in the 1980s after a long hiatus. Chiyonofuji Mitsugu (千代の富士 貢) Chiyonofuji Mitsugu (b 1955) was a Japanese professional sumo wrestler and the 58th yokozuna of the sport. He was considered one of the greatest yokozuna of recent times, winning 31 yūshō or tournament championships, second at the time only to Taihō. He was particularly remarkable for his longevity in sumo's top rank, which he held for a period of ten years from 1981 to 1991. Konishiki Yasokichi (小錦 八十吉 Ⅵ) Saleva'a Fuauli Atisano'e (b 1963), better known by his stage name, Konishiki Yasokichi (小錦八十吉, Konishiki Yasokichi Ⅵ), is an American professional sumo wrestler. He was the first non-Japanese-born wrestler to reach ōzeki, the second-highest possible rank in the sport.
