Tang Dynasty Pottery Seated Figure of Musician Circa 7th-8th century AD Depicting a female musician playing the flute, this pottery figure wears a long robe with a shawl around her arms. Delicate facial features and original pigments enhance the lifelike quality of the sculpture. This artefact serves as a Mingqi, "spirit goods", referring to objects crafted to accompany individuals in their journey to the afterlife.
