Versatile pieces, the set can be used for serving sweets, appetizers, canapés, fruits or other and also can be divided to use separately, as plates easily can be paired with a coffee/ tea service.
The Meissen Dragon pattern was designed in the mid-1700's. This pattern depicts two long-bodied dragons with golden scales flying around a pair of fighting "Hoo" birds, symbolizing heaven and earth with each area of the design embellished with 24K gold leaf.
Among the many things dragons symbolize in Chinese mythology, there are supernatural wisdom, the spirit of change and the rhythm of nature.
The complex design is enriched with symbols of good fortune from the “Infinite Knot” with pearl, coin, scroll, and artemisia leaf of the Chinese Eight Treasures.
Until 1918, only porcelains for the Kings were painted with this pattern.
Meissen is Europe's first hard-paste porcelain manufacturer and is known for the high quality of their porcelain. The factory was established in 1710.
All pieces are marked with the Meissen blue"crossed swords" mark, First Choice, NO grinding lines.
All pieces are in excellent condition, NO chips, NO cracks and NO repairs, please see the pictures as they are part of description.
