Historical Roman coin, set in a modern silver pendant with a Laurel wreath border with bail. If preferred the coin can be removed from the pendant. Coin: Billon Antoninianus from Emperor Probus, struck in Siscia in 280 AD. Obverse: IMP CM AVR PROBVS AVG, radiate draped bust right. Under his reign the Roman armies successfully defeated the Germanic invaders in Gaul and put down a rebellion in Britain. He encouraged the planting of vineyards in Gaul, Spain, and Britain and was evidently killed by troops who resented his discipline and being set to agricultural work.
