Davide Cambria (b. 1986 Messina, Italy) earned his Master degree in Architecture and since then he has lived and worked in cities across Europe like Milan, Berlin, London and Rome, where he is based. Cambria is a figurative painter whose scenes reveal the complexity of life. His oil paintings focus on the investigation around human figures through portraits of faces and bodies. His paintings are designed as fragments of an abstract narrative, not as a representation of specific people. His interest focuses on ambiguity and vagueness, in the beauty of the uncanny: the shape of his works can be seen as machines that raise questions without providing answers. Through actions of overlap and juxtaposition of different images, his paintings receive a precipitate of different experiences: these together create a ambiguous and fragmented tale about being human.
