Exquisite Wallendorf figurine titled “Jenny an y dots”, magnificent character from the musical “Cats”, designed by the German artist Harry Gretsch (1935-2021), in perfect condition. It depicts a cat woman character from the famous musical “Cats”, porcelain figurine of extreme beauty, great hand painted sculpture, gilded. Jennyanydots is a fictional character from T.S.Eliot’s 1939 poetry book “Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats”. She is also a principal character in the 1981 Andrew Lloyd Webber musical “Cats”, which is based on Eliot's work. Jennyanydots is a seemingly lazy Jellicle cat who sits around all day, but at night, she becomes very active as she rules the mice and cockroaches, forcing them to undertake helpful functions and creative projects to curb their naturally destructive habits. This magnificent fairytale story character has been designed by Harry Gretsch for the main modeler of the Wallendorf factory Heinz Schöber, successor after Kurt Steiner death. Wallendorf Porcelain factory has been in operation since 1764, being one of the oldest porcelain trademarks in Germany. It is in pristine condition, Like New-Never Used, marked on the base with crowned W 1764 in green, impressed numbered #1992, impressed initials JB on the top of the base, beautifully sculpted and glazed, NO chips, NO cracks and NO repairs, please see the pictures as they are part of description.
