The Philips TX400 is the first commercial television set that Philips made (1949). The device had a picture tube of 22 cm and 4 channel switches. The black and white device was nicknamed ‘doghouse’. A precursor of the experimental TV-era obtained the nickname ‘little dog’ due to its tilting back shape. The first TV sets were so expensive that comedian Wim Kan described the TV antennas as credit raking in an act. It is a museum piece and rare. Unique Dutch history of the first media platform. The TV unfortunately is in bad condition, the rear cover is missing and the wooden casing has some traces of use. The front and glass are intact, fortunately. Needs restoration.
