Lip Genève Himalaya Automatik – Herrenuhr – 1960er
The Himalaya model was the result of a discussion between Fred Lip, a fan of the mountains, and his friend Lionnel Terray, mountain climbing guide. Fred Lip wanted to give this piece an image of efficiency and durability. Produced in 1954, it was a reference for LIP up to 1973. In 1959, many fans of mountaineering wore it during their expeditions and contributed to its success. This was especially the case for Maurice Herzog, another friend of Fred Lip, who was the first mountaineer to climb the Annapurna (one summit of the Himalayas of more than 8000m) with his Himalaya watch on his wrist. Equipped with a calibre R 153 and working perfectly, this Lip is in a perfect cosmetic condition, its case is gold plated 40 microns, date indicator at three o'clock, its dial, lug indexes and its glass have no defects, very beautiful gold-coloured hands and a central second hand, steel back with Lip logo, numbered, leather strap is 18 cm long without the barb, diameter of the case is 35 mm, shipping will be careful and sent by registered mail.
Happy bidding for this watch which is hardly found in this condition
