British Excelsior motorcycle with competitive technology – quite a showpiece! Bought new in Finland in 1934. The bike has been in competition use from new to 1947. It got road registered in 1947. The current owner bought the bike in 1965. The condition back then was rather poor. The current owner, a skilful mechanic, restored the bike a few years ago to its original style. New parts were fitted (original parts not available). Some of the parts have been made-to-measure according to the original model. The gearbox is a four-speed Burman type C1280, designed for competition use. The JAP engine has been replaced. 500cc JAP 4 stud competition engine. Amal concentric carburettor, runs on petrol. Alton dynamo. Lucas Magneto with coil ignition conversion (see photo). Frame nr: 36212 This bike runs, but not ideal for everyday use. Ideal for exhibition use. Currently registered in Finland.
