The “Frauenschaft” told her she was too young, then she would have been referred to Hilde and she had then registered with the BDM. The younger girls listened raptly. Suddenly vivid singing from the street could be heard. All stormed down the stairs and to the gate. "Now they're coming!" cheered Hilde. Right, down the road, a troop of girls came happily singing. "Fly up you red eagle, high above the swamp and sand... " Ulla could understand the words of the song quite well. The girls marched four in a row, first and foremost the pennant blew. All of them wore dark skirts and white blouses, a black neck cloth. Everywhere curious faces came out of the windows. It was a pretty sight really how the whole group walked in the bright sunshine. Lute accompanied the singing. It sounded beautiful. "If I only could march with with them like that!", Ulla sighed. -Hilde Voss had let their girls appear in a row in the garden. Now, she joined the Gau Director and reported her flock. The Gau Director, just like the others in a dark skirt and white blouse, a blonde big girl of perhaps 20 years, warmly welcomed Hilde Voss. Then the two checked the number of new members. Each received a handshake and had to call her name. Then commanded the Director: Attention: To our new comrades a triple "Kampf-Heil!" as a welcome salutation. " K a m p f h e i l! K a m p f h e i l! K a m p f h e i l! " The echo sounded bright and happy. "Then the girls swarmed apart..."- German / Third Reich, Hitler Youth, young people, German girl of the 1930s, girl story, the youth of the leader, national socialism, illustrated books, NS.-literature, Nazi Youth book, folklore / National Socialist body of thought. 11-15.000
