Gullivera - Milo Manara hommage in olieverf door Mike Hoffman (2018)
A beautiful painting “Gullivera” by Mike Hoffman, oil on canvas, from 2018.
The painting is part of a series of “European Paintings” - based on European comic covers. This one is based on Gullivera by Milo Manara, but Hoffman has given it a unique twist. The Manara book is shown for reference, but is not included in this lot.
The painting will appear in 2019 in a poster book or comic publication.
His paintings are usually much larger than standard comic art of 40 x 28 cm: This painting is 50.8 x 40.6 cm (16x20") fully painted.
Mike Hoffman is a highly sought-after illustrator, mainly of horror and fantasy comics and book covers.
He also made numerous trading cards as well as his own comics (Tarantula, Tigress, Squid Girl, Octavia, Lost Worlds etc.).
His fantasy paintings are bundled in several books.
Hoffman is a Frazetta-adept, which is clearly visible.
The painting will be sent by registered mail.
